On Saturday, October 12, from 2:00 – 4:00 at the Woodburn Library
Members of the 1 st generation of Tex-Mex people in Marion County will gather to share memories. It will be my honor to facilitate a sharing session. MEDIA thanks to technology we will hear and see a – bit of yesterday 😊 Those present were young adults, now grandparents and great-grandparents.
A LOCAL EVENT -- I hope you can join us and visit a SPECIAL PAST. The ethnic/national demographic shift started at St. Paul.
LOCALLY Woodburn's initial temporary visit by Hispanic Families, started in the early 1950's. Mexicans and Tex-Mex families started to make Woodburn their home in the first half of the 1950's.
Sophia there is a lot to research, confirm and verify. The information my wife Lidia and I have been able to collect is truly a miracle. As students of history and our education in Mexico, as well as, in Marion County, we have been blessed to have informally started our research 50 years ago; natives from San Luis Potosi, Mexico and Guadalajara, Jalisco
