On Saturday, October 12, from 2:00 – 4:00 at the Woodburn Library

Members of the 1 st generation of Tex-Mex people in Marion County will gather to share memories.   It will be my honor to facilitate a sharing session.   MEDIA thanks to technology we will hear and see a – bit of yesterday 😊 Those present were young adults, now grandparents and great-grandparents.

A LOCAL EVENT -- I hope you can join us and visit a SPECIAL PAST.   The ethnic/national demographic shift started at St. Paul.

LOCALLY   Woodburn's initial temporary visit by Hispanic Families, started in the early 1950's.   Mexicans and Tex-Mex families started to make Woodburn their home in the first half of the 1950's.

Sophia there is a lot to research, confirm and verify.   The information my wife Lidia and I have been able to collect is truly a miracle.   As students of history and our education in Mexico, as well as, in Marion County, we have been blessed to have informally started our research 50 years ago; natives from San Luis Potosi, Mexico and Guadalajara, Jalisco

Z-FOLDER CONTENTS:   1930 Census, CIVIC/CIVISMO Program outline, Special Guest: Dr. David Martinez-Population in Salem

GIVEN THE DEMOGRAPHIC TRENDS TODAY, OUR PROGRAM IS TIMELY AND THE INFORMATION IS RELEVANT.

SPECIAL ROAD MARKS UPON OUR ARRIVAL IN THE 50'S:   99-E, our Capitol's GOLD PIONEER and the 45th parallel
